The two food Retail brands, vly and Spooning, have now automated their logistics processes with everstox and benefit from fast shipping on all sales channels.
Munich, September 14, 2020– everstox, fulfillment provider and operator of Germany’s first API-driven Logistics-as-a-Service platform, is expanding continuously and is now also entering the Food Retail sector: The two innovative FoodTech Start-Ups vly and Spooning make use of the digital, data-driven platform of everstox and benefit from automated processes, faster shipping and a network of high-quality logistics partners.
Product delivery and many other logistics processes are now supported by the everstox platform for the Food Retail brands vly and Spooning. For food retailers and end consumers, this means a better shopping experience throughout Germany thanks to faster customer service and product shipping. The two manufacturers themselves benefit from the automation of their logistics processes.
The unified API interface from everstox ensures seamless real-time data exchange of all order and inventory data from shop and ERP systems of the two Food Retail brands (e.g. end consumers orders via Shopify or orders from retailers like Rewe, Edeka, etc.) as well as the warehouse management systems (WMS) of their independent logistics partners from the everstox logistics network. All relevant information concerning operations and logistics is also available to vly and Spooning bundled in one user-friendly dashboard. With everstox, both companies can save a large part of the manual and operational steps involved in order, fulfillment and shipping processes, thereby optimizing their cost structure.
vly: Optimized food logistics ensure a better shopping experience
The Berlin FoodTech StartUp vly – also known from the German TV show “Die Höhle der Löwen” – has developed a high-quality milk alternative made from pea protein and produces locally in Germany. In order to offer the same amount of proteins as cow’s milk, the manufacturer needs 13 times less water, five times less cultivation area and generates a total of 15 times less CO2. The increasing popularity of the milk alternative and a rapid increase in sales in Food Retail stores like Rewe, Rossmann and Edeka with over 5000 POS facilities across Germany pushed the IT standards and service levels of the previous logistics partner to their limits: Only a few processes were digital, stock reporting was not automated, and data being exchanged via Email and CSV files resulted in slow order processing times. In order to remedy the operational bottlenecks with a technically effective and operationally strong solution, the Berlin-based FoodTech Start-Up decided to switch to everstox.

Spooning: Operational excellence with coolinglogistics servicesalong the supply chain
The Food Retail brand Spooning is also known from “Die Höhle der Löwen” and also comes from Berlin. Spooning food products are available nationwide in over 4,500 retail stores and through its own online shop. Compared to vly, however, the logistics challenge is very different. Spooning produces fresh biscuit dough for direct consumption and is currently planning to introduce a completely new product line with everstox: Since this is a fresh product with a shorter best-before date, the operational food logistics processes are subject to high requirements.
For example, the goods must remain refrigerated in all steps of the supply chain. Spooning therefore had to find a professional cooling logistics provider who can handle storage, picking and packing processes as well as delivery in constant cooling. Spooning was able to find a qualified and case-matching logistics provider with strong references through the Europe-wide everstox network. In addition, everstox mastered also all technical food logistics challenges with their digital Logistics-as-a-Service platform and has now optimized all operational steps for customer order and fulfillment processes for Spooning.
