Proof of delivery
What is a proof of delivery?
Proof of Delivery (POD) is a confirmation – typically digital or physical – that a shipment has been successfully delivered to the recipient. It may include a signature, timestamp, geolocation, or photo.
Proof of delivery in eCommerce
In eCommerce, proof of delivery plays a key role in confirming receipt, resolving disputes, and enabling refund or return workflows. Depending on the carrier and destination, POD may be collected digitally or on paper. With everstox, delivery statuses including POD are synced automatically from connected carriers – giving brands full transparency and traceability across all deliveries.
Example for a proof of delivery
A customer receives a parcel and signs via handheld device. The signature and timestamp are synced via everstox and displayed in the brand’s dashboard as proof that the order was delivered.
